NS proxy server problem

We using NS proxy 2.5 server to browse Internet. The server always work more and more slow and the user get more and more errors. To resolve the problem, we have to restart the server. Could you help me and tell me why it always happen? The environment of this server is:
HP9000 D230
1CPU and 128MB memory
HP-UX 10.20
80 concurrent user requests
I love it!!

Re: NS proxy server problem

Hi Wang,

It sounds like your system is is experiencing bottlenecks. Glance would be a good tool to check the system's performance when it is running slow. You will be able to determine if the CPU, memory or disk are peaked. SAR would also be a good tool to use
for diagnosing. 80 users with the system being used for the internet, the 128mb memory/swap could be insufficent.

Good Luck.

Re: NS proxy server problem

The system sounds a little underpowered. NS Proxy cache tuning will also affect performance. How is the proxy server configured (how large are the cache files and what tuning configuration settings are you using?)
