NTP authetication keys
On HPUX 11i ver 1 we are running NTPv3 and we don't get the ntp-keygen command to create authentication keys. Is there an easy way to create /etc/ntp.keys and in the correct format???

Re: NTP authetication keys
I personally didn't even know what NTP v3 was.
But the itrc search engine does.
If you find a solution in this doc or otherwise, post it back to this thread please.

Re: NTP authetication keys
Steven,
I read that manual page but didn't believe a word of it ... to my cost ... Thanks for getting my head straight ... I've been up to my ears in NTPv4 which uses PKI so I was scratching my head for an easy way to generate public/private keys(I even started looking at newkey(1) but that's a NIS/NIS+ command ... yuch!!!)
Thanks again !!!

Hi Charles,
Like Steven I'v never heard of it, came across this doc.
http://www4.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/search.do?category=c0&mode=text&searchString=%22%2Fetc%2Fntp.keys%22&searchCrit=allwords&docType=Security&docType=Patch&docType=EngineerNotes&docType=BugReports&docType=Hardware&docType=ReferenceMaterials&docType=ThirdParty
Hope it helps,
