number of processors in a partition
I would like a clarification about the pstat_getdynamic syscall.
Is the number of processors related to the
whole machine, the nPartition or the vPar?
In a partitioned system, is it possible to retrieve both the number of processors in a
given partition and the number of processors
in the entire box? If yes, how?
Thanks in advance.

Re: number of processors in a partition
Hi,
I think next command
# vparstatus
to check the number of cpu's in a partition.
# ioscan -fnkC processor
to check the number of cpu's in the server.
Hope it helps,
Robert-Jan.

Re: number of processors in a partition
Maybe I must point out that I would like to get those information programmatically (preferably through a C API). Thanks

Regarding "...In a partitioned system, is it possible to retrieve both the number of processors in a given partition and the number of processors in the entire box?..."
The parmgr GUI well provide you with all of the information for all resources of the SD since you can assign these resources to with the parmodify option. This is known as ICOD or Instant Capacity on Demand and is a major strength of the SD.
The parstatus option also exists in parmgr or from the command line for specific evaluation of each cell or partition. But in general, one cell has 4 cpus.
parstatus -C -v
-or-
parstatus -P -v
