O.S Upgrade from 11iv2 to 11iv3 with Service guard
Hi,
Have anyone upgraded the O.S version where Service guard is installed. The O.S is 11iv2 and is a Integrity VM partition.
Is there any documents or what specefic care should I take from SG point of view during the O.S upgrade.
O.S version : 11i V2 (11.23)
HP Service guard version: A.11.18
Gowing toward 11iv3.
Thanks ..

Re: O.S Upgrade from 11iv2 to 11iv3 with Service guard
Hi
Perhaps more of details required.
are u planning only an OS upgrade, on all clients of the SG cluster nodes?
what are the cluster nodes, are they IVM and SG clustered?
how many nodes?
are the IVM s set as the SG Nodes or are they set as the SG packages?
what are the applications that are using the SG packages?
Also you shall need to upgrade your applications as you are upgrading the Base OS.
remeber to take the full Ignites of the systems that you plan to upgrade as well as the IVM Host configs.
please refer to the IVM guide.

as well as

Re: O.S Upgrade from 11iv2 to 11iv3 with Service guard
In 11iV3, the SG version gets changed. You need to re-configure the cluster by removing ascii files.
Also, the old SG files of v2 will support in V3. Even you will have an option to regenerate the ascii/control/pkg files.
Thanks,
Vivek
