OLAR and vPars

Hi Folks,

I need to add a fiber channel card to an rp7420. I want to use OLAR and therefore go into SAM, find all "empty" slots, turn one off and add the card, turn the slot back on and be good to go. I can do this on the L2000 systems but not this one with the vpars. The vpars' SAM all show no empty slots and we know that there are empty slots. Has anyone run into this? Any ideas? I have a call into HP, but very often you guys are alot quicker.

According to HP, the whole system has to be shut down to add a card. Not very efficient as this is a very expensive system used for production.
