OLD K210box, hpux10.2, swinstall finds nothing on standard cd's.
I am trying to find and load ignite software. But I find NO software is able to be seen on ANY cdroms.
I put in is HPUX10.20 application software March2000 cd 1 of 4.
I run swinstall interactively.
I try to load software from the local cdrom.
I get this:
"There is currently no depot software on host "xxx" at location "/cdrom".
I get out of swinstall, and cd to this directory.
But I go to this /cdrom and there are tons of things to install. But none of the files end in the word ".depot".
Any idea what's going on?

Try restarting swagentd:
/sbin/init.d/swagentd stop
/sbin/init.d/swagentd start

Re: OLD K210box, hpux10.2, swinstall finds nothing on standard cd's.
I rebooted the box.
I tried to run swinstall on specific directories. All of those tests failed.
I have tried to boot from a "core-OS" cdrom. THAT worked. I got a menu. But I don't want to destroy what's on the box.

I believe you need the application CD set, not the core-os - that's why you couldn't swinstall it.

Still doesn't work.
I'm not trying to be stubborn here.
The BOX is.

When you have the Application Media mounted at /cdrom, issue the following command:
# swlist -l depot -s
Let us know what you see/errors you receive...

Re: OLD K210box, hpux10.2, swinstall finds nothing on standard cd's.
I can still get to all the old stuff because I make a vg00.map file. I imported the old, buggy vg00 as vg09. Now I can have my cake and eat it too.
