Omniback - Unwarranted mount requests aborting backups
Omniback II v 2.55, HPUX 10.20, HP6400 autoloader. Intermittently a backup will abort because, for no obvious reason, OB issues a mount request for another tape - the loaded tape is not full, usually only has 2 or 3 overwrites. We clean and rescan nightly before the backup starts.

Re: Omniback - Unwarranted mount requests aborting backups
Are you running into a conflict with protection status on the requested tape?

Re: Omniback - Unwarranted mount requests aborting backups
This problem will occur if you have a certain number of tapes in a pool and it has run out of space in the pool. Try adding more tapes into the OBII pool.
Also you might want to check that you have set the option to append to the tape, rather than looking for a new tape every session.

Minimum effort maximum output!
