I think I don't fully understand the question.

You have 1 server with 2 (internal) HDD?

You want to install an OS on each and want to boot either the first or the second?

It's possible.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

This is not a very complete description of
the computer you're using. What is it?

> is it possible that each hard disk is
> bootable?

Depending on the system, probably yes.

> can i boot on one server at a time?

Huh? Do you mean, "Can I boot from one disk
at a time?"? On most simple systems, the
question would be, "How could you possibly
boot from more than one disk at a time?".

On my zx2000 (IA64) system, for example, I
have two SCSI disks:

[...]
Scsi(Pun0,Lun0) FUJITSU MAN3367MP HPF1 ( 80 MBytes/sec)
Scsi(Pun1,Lun0) SEAGATE ST373405LW 0003 ( 80 MBytes/sec)
[...]

VMS (V8.3-1H1) is installed on one disk, and
HP-UX (11.31) is installed on the other. At
start-up, you can get a menu like this:

EFI Boot Manager ver 1.10 [14.61] Firmware ver 2.31 [4411]

Please select a boot option

OpenVMS on DKA100: PKA0.1
HP-UX Primary Boot: 0/3/1/0.0x0.0x0
EFI Shell [Built-in]
network boot
cdrom
Boot Option Maintenance Menu
System Configuration Menu
[...]

Just use the arrow keys on the console to
select the disk/OS you want, and hit Return
(or Enter). (Or wait a little while, and
you'll get the first one.) If you have more
disks, you can run more different operating
systems (or different versions of the same
OS).

Of course, knowing practically nothing about
your "one server unit", it's hard to say much
with certainty about what you can or can't
do with it.
