Online JFS licence
I need an information regarding Online JFS licencing.
We are using Online JFS (licence) on a system and now planing to migrate to a new system ( machine). Can i use the same licence on the new system for Online JFS?
If not, would you tell me the procedure to get the new licence ?
Thanks and Regards,
Siva.

Re: Online JFS licence
Yes Siva,
There is a file called .codewords that can be migrated to the new server.
Technically if you want to run it long term on both machines you need a license. The product is licensed per system or cpu.

Re: Online JFS licence
I know that tere isn' t license for the online JFS product but codeword.
So if you have the codeword you can install the software in the other machine.
In the swinstall interface should be --> Advanced option --> Add codeword

Re: Online JFS licence
No need for purchasing new license. You can use the existing one.

Re: Online JFS licence
If you need to run on 2 or more different machines then you need to buy from HP. As far as I know each license(code word) is per machine so you would also want to talk to HP about this.
The same code word would work on other systems but each code word is meant for each server.

Also you can check this link:
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/search.do?category=c0&prevQueryString=JFS35KBQA00000319&mode=id&searchString=JFS35KBQA00000319&searchCrit=allwords&docType=Security&docType=Patch&docType=EngineerNotes&docType=BugReports&docType=Hardware&docType=ReferenceMaterials&docType=ThirdParty&dateRange=all&search.x=30&search.y=9
Depending on the version of the OS and OnlineJFS you will have some restrictions in licensing.
You might contact HP Directly with the contact information provided on the 1st link.

And the document #JFS35KBQA00000319 in the technical knowledgebase (for OJFS 3.5)
Depending on the version of the OS and OJFS that you have you will have restrictions on licensing.
