OnlineJFS install question

Hi - wondering if anyone can shed some light on software/licensing of OnlineJFS. I have an rx6600 with the foundation environment installed that doesn't include OnlineJFS. I also have an rx2600 that was purchased with the mission critical environment and includes a license for OnlineJFS but the server wasn't ever used and isn't going to be used for HP-UX anymore.
Can I use the OnlineJFS license for the mission critical environment on the rx6600 that has the foundation environment? If so, would I just use the mission critical software on the rx6600 to install OnlineJFS (with the code)?

thanks in advance for any information.

I see no reason why you couldn't transfer the lic (the whole thing actually) to your 6600. The OnlineJFS part is part of the entire MC license. I do not believe it can be parted out.

You should contact your contracts person to have that officially arranged.

Re: OnlineJFS install question

No - there is NO way to transfer the Online JFS license from MC to Foundation.

The whole point of the OE's is to bundle options at a more reasonable price.

You can however, transfer the entire MC OE from the 2600 to the 6600.

Re: OnlineJFS install question

Shalom,

OnlineJFS must be licensed per cpu system by system.

There is nothing stopping you from illegally using MCOE on more systems than its licensed for. However there is no codeword file that can be tranferred from the MCOE system that will work on the foundation OE system. You need to purchase another license to be legal.
