Open SNMP Port
Hi,
how can i open the 161,162 ports on my system 11.31, because i working to configure the IRS on our company.
for that i need to open this
port 162 from managed system and IRS server
port 161 from IRS server to managed system
from firewall this done but i still can't access
# telnet 19.168.1.50 161
Trying...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
# swlist -l product | grep -i snmp
OVSNMPAgent B.11.31 HP-UX_SNMP_Agent_Product

In order for a port to be open there must be some process running that is listening for a connection on that particular port.
If there is no process running then it doesn't matter what you do, that port will not be "open".
