open ssh on hpux 10.20

I need to make my 10.20 system secure by installing ssh. I have learnt ssh is not supported for 10.20 systems. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions to my problem ?

I don't mean to be facetious, but my suggestion would have to be to upgrade your system to at least 11.0. HP-UX 10.20 goes off support at the end of this coming June.

It's going to be next to impossible to find ssh for 10.20 and it's going to become increasingly more difficult to find patches, support, and applications as time goes on.

Why do you say that openssh is not "supported"?. I have Openssh installed on 2 HP-UX 10.20 machines and it works OK for me.

Hi,

ssh is supported on 10.20, but it's difficult to find this on the web because 10.20 is coming out of support at end of june 2003 and HP does'nt distribute software for this version.

Hi,

The 10.20 operating system will not be supported after June 2003. What Pete means is that anything in the way of new versions for other software products may not be compiled and placed at various places. You can still get the source code and compile it yourself from here. The last version that was compiled for open distribution had some security holes.http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Networking/Admin/openssh-3.5p1/

I understand "supported" now, but openssh is "almost easy" to compile...at least the version I have.
