Oracle applications 11i with Mc serviceguard
Hi All,
I want to install the applications tier (not the db tier) of Oracle applications 11i on a clustered environment administred by HP mc/serviceguard. Question : Does HP serviceguard support the applicative layer of oracle applications without adding anything (extension or something like this) ?
Please advice,
Thx in advance,
Sofiane.

Re: Oracle applications 11i with Mc serviceguard
Shalom Sofiane,
Yes HP Serviceguard supports almost any application without addition of extensions. The only possible exception I know of is RAC, which may not run properly without additional software.
To run this product without additional software is difficult because you have to write all the control and monitor scripts yourself.
If the application runs without SG, in almost every case you can run it with SG. It just depends how much work you are willing to do.

Re: Oracle applications 11i with Mc serviceguard
Thx for your reply.
My high priority is the load balancing. I have 3 rp4400 servers connected to eva 4000 through a san . One is dedicated to own the DB tier and the 2 others to own the applications tier. For this purpose, I have 2 solutions :
1st : I can install oracle applications tier after installing serviceguard on the 2 nodes.
2nd : I can do an install with spreading forms server and concurrent server on the 2 nodes without installing serviceguard.
My question : which solution is better.
thx in advance,
Sofiane.
