Oracle files missing after rebooting server!

HI
After rebooting a server, the files in /var/oracle and the datafiles in /data/NPR01A/u01 are not present.

Can anybody suggest. Whats the problem and the workaround!

Re: Oracle files missing after rebooting server!

Are you using LVM for those directories ?

It may be a case that LVM vgs are not activated after reboot in which those lvols resides.

Can you provide more information about how those directories were configured before and output of following

strings /etc/lvmtab
bdf
ll /dev/*/group
ioscan -fnC disk

And anytime something is not working after a reboot, look at the bootup messages in syslog and /etc/rc.log

Re: Oracle files missing after rebooting server!

check the boot level via the command "who -r " ,I think your server may be in the single user mode,so the lvols does not mounted.Or maybe it needed to "fsck"

Re: Oracle files missing after rebooting server!

hi,

is /data/NPR01A/u01 from an external storage?

maybe the external storage is not switched on or the "connection" is no longer active.. check the cables.

Check also the syslog file for any errors..
