oracle on LV vs PV
My os: HP_UX 10.20
Serv: D230 HP-9000
Hello,
I need to replace a Hd 4.3 gig (Physical volume) by 2 hd of 2.5 Gig each to mount a 5 Gig (logical volume)
I'll restore an Oracle DB on this logical volume.
Oracle was on a PV, do you know if probleme exist to restore the db on a LV.
Can anybody give to me a complete procedure (hp command) to mount this new logical drive.

Re: oracle on LV vs PV
Save yourself a lot of headaches and export your DB to tape, and rebuild your database from scratch!
Of course if you haven't done this before, then hire yourself a consultant.
BTW, where the hell did you get 2.5 GB drives?? And of course 10.20 is obsolete next year.
