Oracle Online Restore on Different Machine

We have configured Oralce Omni Online Integration (Oracle 8.5.1.0 on HPUX11.0).
we can able to backup the oracle online database backup and restore onto
same hosts. IF we try to restore the database on different host other than target
host . We do not know how to do it? Can Anyone help me to resolve this issue.
Actually, we need to copy the database from one host to other host but we can't
shutdown the database.

Have you discussed this with Oracle? They would be a good place to start asking questions.

We have integrated Oracle and Omni and We are doing the backup
and restore thru omni using rman. So I would like to know anyone come across
this setup and how are they doing the restore on different host of the backup
done thru omni.

assuming by Omni you mean OmniBack, I attach some info that may help.

Oracle doesn't work that way. The problem is from the control files. You have to export, take a dump and created a database on the second host then import the dump.

Hi Melvyn,
Thanks for the Document but This will not be suitable for ourr requirement.
We need to restore the whole dump from production to test system without
creating temp database.

For file system restore, we can change the target host on omni.

The restore session will be started by rman script and If I can able to change
the Target Host in rman/omni then I can restore the database to another client.
