Oracle Patch Upgrade from 9.2.0.7 to 9.2.0.8 in a two node Cluster.

Hi need to do Oracle Patch Upgrade from 9.2.0.7 to 9.2.0.8 in a two node Cluster.I have a two node cluster running HP-UX 11.23 with SG A.11.16.node02 is called the server side as Temip/Tns runs on this node and node03 is called the client side as Oracle runs in this node.
The problem i am facing is the lsnrctl gets started automatically even if i stop it.
Has any one done similar type of upgrade?
Do we have any issue with 9.2.0.8 ?

Shalom,

I've done and worked with customers doing similar upgrades.

The cluster package that runs Oracle should start the listener and the database. It should be integrated so that when the database fails over to a new node, all critical services are started.

This sounds like a problem with the cluster configuration.

Everything I've seen says 9.2.0.8 is stable, if approaching end of support life. If this behavior is caused by Oracle and not your cluster configuration, it should not be a problem on the new release. I'm just not convinced of the source of the problem.

It will help if you can explain how you have setup your oracle package in SG env.
