when linking oracle, there are many linking error, please look at make.log.

if install oracle 9.2.0.1.0(no OPS),which patches are needed to install on HP-UX 11i version 1.6?

It appears to me that you are trying to install Oracle for PA-RISC on an Itanium machine. That *WILL NOT* work.

You need to get the version of Oracle that is built specifically for HP-UX on the Itanium Architecture, also known as IA64.

get the downloaded files from Oracle site.

Are the files for HPUX or they are for HPUX/IA64

HPUX/IA64 is for Itanium.

Better order cds for Itanium architecture or Download oracle from www.oracle.com/download. for IA64 architecture. minimum patch level required is available in documentation itself.

I want to know if oracle 9.2.0.1.0 for PA-RISC will not certainly work on an Itanium machine. my user tell me there have been a example like this. if I want to install oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on an Itanium machine,what will i do to runing oracle?
another question, if no c/ansi C compiler or develop suit, oracle setup can be done?

Hi,

If you want to install oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on an Itanium machine, then according to the Oracle certification matrix you should have OS HP-UX 11i (11.22 or 11.23). These are the two OS releases Oracle 9.2 64-bit is certified for HP-UX Itanium.

Get the oracle Enterprise Edition on HP-UX Itanium software CDâ s from Oracle. When you say oracle setup, and if you were refering to installation and configuration of Oracle on HP-UX and create the database then it will not require C / ANSI C compiler or develop suit.
