Re: OS Backup

Hi

If this was taken using make_tape_recovery, you need to boot with this tape and can install the OS from the tape.

Re: OS Backup

hi,

no, stop the server from booting at PDC level.

Do a search for bootable devices
type sea at main prompt

This should pick the tape up depending upon server and tape,(if its supported). Then if its a bootable tape select the P0, P1 coresponding device to boot.
This will reinstall the OS

you would be better listing the tape files really and seeing what exactly the backup covers though aswell

Re: OS Backup

Depends on the format of the backup.

How did you make the backup?

Re: OS Backup

Hi Srinivasa Rao,

If the tape has taken with make_tape_recovery backup , i.e Ignite backup , you can certainly restore the OS .

You have to boot from this tape.

To do this:
1. Interupt boot sequence.
2. use search at PDC.
3. Locate your tape drive device .( P0,P1,P2 etc.)
4. boot Pn
