Hi Balaji,

Check for the PDC firmware version. You probably need a new firmware on the system. Also if you can, reduce the swap to a lower value, try 3.5 GB.

Hope this helps.

Unless you REALLY need it, 4GB of swap on a machine with 2GB RAM is way too much. The days of needing a swap area that 2xRAM are gone. Reduce your swap area to something like 2GB and try again. I think you'll have much better luck.

Thanks, your answers were really helpful for me to solve the same problem.

Re: OS Installation problem through IGNITE Server

A slightly more standards based setup would involve space allocation to /usr for binaries, /opt for optional binaries and /var for logs.

I'm sure you probably can run HP-UX with your chosen setup, but it might be better to have something that your backup will understand so you can take a vacation some day.

I agree, unless the system is seriously overloaded, swap is a little high. After the system is set up and has applicatons running on it, check swapinfo -tam
