OS upgrade from 11.00 to 11.11
Hi Guys,
Can anyone advice how to use the update-ux to upgrade the os from 11.00 to 11.11, and can I know have I to upgrade the application like omniback 4.1, online JFS, Glance Plus and some other application. Can I have the steps to perform this operation.

Hi,
Install update-ux from the media to the system with:
# swinstall -s /SD_CDROM Update-UX
then
# /usr/sbin/update-ux -s /SD_CDROM HPUX11i-OE

1) I recommend against upgrade-ux. A cold install produces better results.
2) If you do run upgrade-ux, when done, all the HP provided applications should be upgraded to the 11i version.
3) Vendor applications like Oracle have their own instructions. Some don't support the upgrade, require a new, cold install. Some require you to relink the application.
