OS upgrade from hpux11.00 to hpux11.11 v1

Hi,

We want to upgrade hpux 11.00 to hpux 11.11i v1. The boxes are running iPlanet 4.1 and Apache 2.0.48 web servers.
We are planning to take backup of web server's config files. It seems to me we may need take backup of web server configuration files only and not binary files. It appears that we will need to re-install iplanet 4.1 and apache software from the depot and then restore the configuration files from the backup tape.

Second, are binaries of hpux 11.00 and hpux 11.11i different ? What are their implications to the applications running
on it ?

Any thoughts or best practices will be helpful.

Hope few applications can run in 11.11i which was running in 11.00. No problem will come.

Are binaries of hpux 11.00 and hpux 11.11i different ?

It depends, In 11.00, you may have binaries with PA-RISC1.1 shared executable where as in 11.11, some of the binaries will be PA-RISC2.0 shared executable.

Its a good option to backup config files.

is your 11.00 32 or 64 bits?

on 11i, you will be running 64bits. Some applications may not work. you must check them all.
