Re: OS upgrade
Do not try to upgrade. There have been many reported problems in the past of trying to upgrade from 10.20 to 11.00, and, you are going even further to 11.11
There have been general statements that doing upgrades from 1 major version to another (in this case, from 10 to 11) is not a recommended path.
Do a cold, fresh install.

Re: OS upgrade
Applications may no longer work. Some devices may no longer be supported. RAM usage may increase, thus causing memory issues.
There are a LOT of things to think about. If you haven't tested everything, I would strongly advise you to test the upgrade ( I would actually recommend a cold install rather than an upgrade since you are skipping a version) and test your applications and procedures.
This is not a process you want to just do. You must plan and test thoroughly.

Re: OS upgrade
After you get the OS installed, you can then vgimport any non-vg00 volume groups. Your 11.11 OS will have no trouble using the 10.20 filesystems and you have the option of updating the vxfs version using the vxupgrade command.

Chapter 2 Choosing a Migration Path
http://docs.hp.com/en/5187-3614/ch02.html
check the OS support for K460 and K580:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5187-3614/ch03s01.html#chdghdcj
as others told, better plan for cold installaion.
this is just for reference: For help updating from HP-UX 10.20 or 10.30, use the Software Transition Kit available at this web site:
