Output of vparefiutil

Hi All,

Kindly let me know if the EFi path entry in my output of vparefiutil command is correct.

# vparefiutil

Hardware path - EFI path mapping
================================

Hardware path : 0.0.0.2.0.6.0.0.0.0.0
EFI path : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,0)/Pci(2|0)/Scsi(Pun6,Lun0)/HD(Part1,SigAE203BA4-9B9F-11DD-8002-D6217B60E588)/\EFI\HPUX\HPUX.EFI

Hardware path : 1.0.0.2.0.6.0.0.0.0.0
EFI path : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,100)/Pci(2|0)/Scsi(Pun6,Lun0)/HD(Part1,Sig9DBECA1A-7FDA-11DB-8002-D6217B60E588)/\EFI\HPUX\HPUX.EFI

Hardware path : 0.0.6.1.0.8.0.0.0.0.0
EFI path : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,6)/Pci(1|0)/Scsi(Pun8,Lun0)/HD(Part1,SigD4C33E06-8151-11DB-8002-D6217B60E588)/\EFI\HPUX\HPUX.EFI

Hardware path : 1.0.6.1.0.8.0.0.0.0.0
EFI path : Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,106)/Pci(1|0)/Scsi(Pun8,Lun0)/HD(Part1,Sig464A444C-8153-11DB-8002-D6217B60E588)/\EFI\HPUX\HPUX.EFI

I think there are two "0" missing in the (EFI Path) Acpi section for 1st and 3rd Hardware path and should be as below:

Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,000)
instead of
Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,0)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,006)
instead of
Acpi(HWP0002,PNP0A03,6)

As my vpars are not booting from primary path and is booting from alternate path.

Thanks!

Amit

Re: Output of vparefiutil

Hi,
Efi addressses starts with ACPI(vendor,xxx)for processor based systems or ACPI(vendor,cxx) for cell-based systems.

For processor based systems xxx means LBA number. For cell based system c means cell number, xx means LBA.

If the left side of this xxx includes 0 than it is simply omited, this is normal behaviour.

If you change anything with your boot disk config yo can update your vpar db with:
# vparefiutil -u
