Panic while starting server .
My server 11i , not able to boot after restart.
I tryied to boot in Single user mode , but it get Panic and restart again . I tryied with previous kernel too. no luck.
I am able to list file in /stand.
This is my test server , I have another boot disk , I started server using that disk. Then imported earlier disk VG. I am able to mount stand , but not other , It gives me unrecongnised file system.
What could be the issue / resolution
Also how can I mount earlier root FS.
As a last restort I have a Ignite tape.

Re: Panic while starting server .
Hello,
you can try to boot on install cd and choose "run a recovery shell"
When you get a prompt try to mount your disk system that panic on /tmp/root for example
Stf ;-)

Re: Panic while starting server .
I think and Ignite tape is the way to go.
It appears the /stand filesystem has been corrupted. Perhaps converted from HFS to vxfs? Can't do that.
I'm not sure what happened but eventually you'll need to Ignite the box.
I doubt the recovery shell will return the system to function, but if you have time, there is no reason not to do so.
