parstatus shows absent

I have been asked to turn up cell 0 on my rp7410. When I run parstatus it shows cell 0 to be absent. What exactly is this telling me?
Output
Hardware Actual Deconf/ OK/ Cell Next Par
Location Usage Max Deconf Connected To Capable Boot Num
========== ============ ======= ========= =================== ======= ==== ===
cab0,cell0 absent - - - - - -
cab0,cell1 active core 4/0/4 8.0/ 0.0 cab0,bay0,chassis1 yes yes 0

Thanks in advance

Re: parstatus shows absent

absent - means just that - it isn't there.

You have a RP7410 with only 1 cell board (I have a couple like that as well - costs less).

Re: parstatus shows absent

That's interesting....
Usually 1 cell systems have cell 0 & no cell 1.
I wonder why it was built like that?
BTW - that limits you to max 4 CPUs & 16 GB RAM using 2GB DIMM pairs.

Re: parstatus shows absent

My single cell board rp7410's are the same:

[Cell]
CPU Memory Use
OK/ (GB) Core On
Hardware Actual Deconf/ OK/ Cell Next Par
Location Usage Max Deconf Connected To Capable Boot Num
========== ============ ======= ========= =================== ======= ==== ===
cab0,cell0 absent - - - - - -
cab0,cell1 active core 4/0/4 4.0/ 0.0 cab0,bay0,chassis1 yes yes 0

@ looks like:

[Cell]
CPU Memory Use
OK/ (GB) Core On
Hardware Actual Deconf/ OK/ Cell Next Par
Location Usage Max Deconf Connected To Capable Boot Num
========== ============ ======= ========= =================== ======= ==== ===
cab0,cell0 active core 4/0/4 10.0/ 0.0 cab0,bay0,chassis0 yes yes 1
cab0,cell1 active core 4/0/4 10.0/ 0.0 cab0,bay0,chassis1 yes yes 0

Attached is a picture of a RP7410 with the cell labels.

Re: parstatus shows absent

Ooooops...my bad.
I confused this with an 8400.
On an rp7405/7410 cell 1 is indeed the primary cell.
It's on an rp8400 where cell 0 is the primary.
Sure like to be consistent don't they &^))

Re: parstatus shows absent

Try this .......

To list detailed processor and memory configuration information for a
specified cell use:-

parstatus -V -c#

where # is the cell number

Example output from `parstatus -V c0` command:-

[Cell]
Hardware Location : cab0,cell0
Global Cell Number : 0
Actual Usage : active core
Normal Usage : base
Connected To : cab0,bay1,chassis3
Core Cell Capable : yes
Firmware Revision : 32.2
Failure Usage : activate
Use On Next Boot : yes
Partition Number : 0
Partition Name :
