partition manager will not display

I am running a rp8420 with HP-UX 111.

When I try to run partition manager from sam through a X display on my PC using Reflection X the sam sessions hangs and partition manager hangs. The process cannot be killed.

Here is the process that is still running:

/usr/sam/lbin/samy -P /opt/parmgr/lib/%L/parmgr.ui

Any idea how to correct this?

Thanks.

Re: partition manager will not display

If the process has a ppid of 1, you probably need to boot the box to clear it.

Re: partition manager will not display

Check the PPID of the process. If it is 1, as steven said, you may have to reboot your machine.

Re: partition manager will not display

I may not have been clear on my problem. How do I get the partition manager to display on my PC using Reflection X. It is only partition manager that does not display. Everything else works fine - sam, glance, xterm, xclock, CDE, etc. There is something wrong with partition manager.

Thanks.

Re: partition manager will not display

If you are still running version 1, you have to update to v 2.0. I had this issue before I was able to kill Reflection x session. After update to v 2.0, it work fine on our server. It's free download from HP.

Re: partition manager will not display

Hi Jeff,

What happens when you try to run parmgr directly?

/opt/parmgr/bin/parmgr

Also verify that your current session supports the C LANG. Run the following:

locale -a

verify that C and POSIX are listed. Something may have overridden the $LANG or $LC_ALL values. parmgr requires that LANG=C to path properly down from /opt/parmgr/lib/C to get to the parmgr.ui interface.

Re: partition manager will not display

The libraries seem to be there and I tried setting LANG=C but I get the same problem.

Partition Manager works from my Superdoom systes.
