Dear Sirs,
Is it possible to partition below under different file system on SAN enabled disk space :-
/opt/rose
/opt/rose/logs
I believe in DASD (Direct Attached Storage Device) we used to keep binaries and logs file system on separate file system or volume group ??
Now we have HP's SAN enabled disk space available with us.
What would be best practice to partition the above mentioned 2 mount point ?
Thanks,
Shiv

Solution
Hi Shiv,
Generally te SAN space is allready stripped at hardware level. If I am not wrong you are using XP array in backend, if yes then it is allready stripped at hardware level.
The only thing you can do it is to further strip it across multiple available LUNs. I do not know how many have you configured to create these file systems. But strip atleast across 4 LUNs to have effective usage. Also if you are using pvlinks then also make extent level stripping to get effective usage of all your paths simultaneously.
HTH,
