Passive Mode FTP and ftpaccess file

To assign a range of ports for passive mode ftp, does the confoguration file on the server, ftpaccess, have to contain a line like the following?

passive ports 49125 65339

I want to know what if the configuration file does not contain the line.

Is there any default ports range for passive FTP when ftpaccess does not contain the line?

Or, is the server assigning any random port number greater than 1024?

Or, does passive ftp command fail?

Hi,

By default( no "passive ports" entry in ftpaccess file ), CLIENT takes the random ports from 1024 to 65339.

If u want limit this random ports, then only you need ftpaccess file.
