How can I use a root password, which is not following the password restrictions. I am on a HPUX11.0 trusted system.

Have you gone into sam and modified the root accounts security policies?

Yes, I set in password formatting policies everything to NO, except "user specifies" for root the "restriction rules" shall not apply, no null password is allowed.

Hello,

What type of password are you trying to achieve?

On a trusted system, the minimum password length is 6 characters and I believe you have to have at least 1 number.

The password I want to use has 6 characters and no digit. Is it possible to avoid the digit?

min one number is default setting of passwd file
If there is a better way to do it, find it !
