Patch & License

I have installed 10.20.

Now which patch I need to install. I am asking this question because I have seen so many patch available in patch download. How to know which is latest patch ?

Another ques. After installation of 10.20 , it shows only 2 user license. How can I increase this to 8 user license. Is it available on same Core OS Install CD ?

Looking for your reply.

Re: Patch & License

You should be able to load the entire bundle. Just remember that 10.20 is not supported any longer. (as of June 30) The application CD should have the unlimited license. You can also get it from here:

Re: Patch & License

Hi,

Typically, you should install a HWE (HardWare Enablement) patch bundle and follow that with a GR (General Release) patch bundle after you have installed the OS.

Let the system determine the patches you need to install.

Assuming you have a CD or a directory containing the HWE and/or GR patch bundles, you use the following command:

# swinstall -p -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true -s

The above command will only do a preview (due to the -p option) or analysis phase only and wont actually install anything. Check the resultant log file and if all is OK then install as follows:

# swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true -s

The other people have provided details about the user licenses.

Hope it helps.

Re: Patch & License

Thanks Michael / Umapathy,

I am able to download General Release patch.
But for Licenses , I am not able to download licenses.

It gives me message " file you are trying to download is not available at this time , pl try later " or "Authentication failure ".

Is this license is free or need to purchase it ?

Re: Patch & License

Abhjeet,
I tried that too. I think HP has suspended it since 10.2 has gone out of service. But anyway you can use the current machine if you are not using dumb terminals. All the telnet sessions count as 1 license and the console as 2.
