Patch identification after upgrade from 11.00 to 11.11
There have been problems with MQ after doing a 'Burn & Build' upgrade from HPUX 11.00 to 11.11.
The person reinstalling MQ asks if PHCO_24148 is installed which would seem to be a patch for 11.00 .
How do I confirm that the problems this patch fixed on 11.00 are fixed in 11.11 or if another patch exists to cure the same problem?
Cheers, Bob.E

Re: Patch identification after upgrade from 11.00 to 11.11
Hi,
Pulling up PHCO_24148 [go to the ITRC home and select Individual Patches], it shows that this patch is a libc cumulative patch. I did a search for libc for 11.11 patches and found that the recommended patch is PHCO_27434, and the latest patch is PHCO_27740.
If you know the specific problem they were looking to have cured by PHCO_24148, you can read the defect descriptions and solutions in the 11.11 patches and see if they cover your fix. Your specific fix may not be there, but it doesn't mean that you aren't covered as many fixes get rolled into the general O/S update.

Thanks for that. It what sort of what I was thinking.
It's just when I need an upgrade doing on one of my servers the central TS guys throw down their latest approved company build on to it so I don't get too involved in this side of things.
My new build has a current libc patch of PHCO_26124 which states the best current option is to have the same two patches that you mention.
I take your point that I could do with knowing what the actual problem was that resulted in the request for a patch.
Thanks again, Bob.e
