Re: patch installation

If you still have the depot on the other machine, it's simple. Check the man pages of swinstall. If you mean that it is already installed on the other machine, then you can not do it, you will need to download the patch depot again.

Re: patch installation

the basic procedure:

swcopy the depot to server A

swinstall the software from server A to server B (issued from B):

swinstall -s ServerA:/path/to/depot/software.depot

See

man swinstall

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: patch installation

There are a couple of steps. swinstall does not need NFS but the source machine must use swcopy to create a depot. Assuming cpu1 is the machine with the patches and they arfe located in /var/tmp:

unpack all the patches so you have the PHxx-#####.depot files

mkdir /var/tmp/depot
for MYPATCH in $(echo /var/tmp/PH*depot)
do
swcopy -s $MYPATCH \* @ /var/tmp/depot
done

Now check that the depot is registered:

swlist -l product @ /var/tmp/depot

And you're done with cpu1

On cpu2, check that the depot is visible:

swlist -l product @ cpu1:/var/tmp/depot

Now install the patches on cpu2:

swinstall -s cpu1:/var/tmp/depot PH...1 PH...2 PH...3

or install all of them:

swinstall -s cpu1:/var/tmp/depot \*
