Patch Update

Is there any tool that I can use for the patch auditing on the HP-UX 11

Re: Patch Update

Hi Miro,

If you just wish to see all patches installed use:

swlist -l patch | grep -v \#

This will give all patches & whether they've been applied, committed or superseded

You can also purchase CPM (Custom Patch Manager) or with a service agreement tied to your ITRC ID you can use CPN (Custom Patch Notification).

Re: Patch Update

If you have it, run /usr/contrib/bin/check_patches. It will check the installed patches for problems. It is pretty through. The results are placed in a file called /tmp/check_patches.report.

Patch CDs come out 4 times a year.

Re: Patch Update

If you have a support agreement with HP, you can use CPM (Custom Patch Manager). Click on "maintenance and support" on the menu on the left of the screen, then select "customized patch bundles (custom patch manager)" under "patching".

It's a good tool for comparing your current patches with the recommended (or latest) HP patches.
