patch

Hi,

I had installed this patch PHSS_35371. The HP site says that it requires a reboot. I know that a reboot is not required in most of the service patches.I did ask for a downtime, as I thought that the patch will ask for a reboot. But the patch was installed sucessfuly without asking for reboot. I want to know even if I had given autoreboot=true why was the system not rebooted.

It says right in the patch text:

Automatic Reboot?: No

That is why it did not reboot.

Re: patch

The patch database does not indicate this patch requires a reboot. The "-autoreboot=true" option is required for swinstall to install patches from the command line, but it does not indicate that a reboot will occur. The option is required in case the patch does need a reboot.

Re: patch

There is no reboot needed - see the patch text: "Automatic Reboot?: No"

http://www5.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?patchid=PHSS_35371&sel={hpux:11.23,}&BC=main|search|#Automatic%20Reboot?:

The commandline is taken from a template only.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
