Hello,
I have a doubt....... when I downloading a patch, sometime I see "Critical Fix"; but what it means "critical Fix"?
It not good, right?

Thanks....

Re: Patches Simple Question

A good example is a security patch for say sendmail (currently open) This I would include as a critical patch.

Another could be where there is a potential corruption in a previously released kernel or network patch where under a certain circumstance your system could panic or a network failure could be experienced.

Re: Patches Simple Question

Hi

normally A patch will be considered critical only if it fixes a critical problem.

However when loading patches attention should be paid to all warnings dependencies and special installation instructions.

Thanks.....but when I install a critical patch I resolve a previous problem or I can find some problem after the patch Installations.

Re: Patches Simple Question

Hi

If the patch is critical it fixes a problem.

Nobody can guarantee withh 100% certainty that it fixes all problems. It fixes known problems.
