PATCHES/UPGRADES
The Install/Update/Recovery cd I am going to use is dated November 1999.
Also, is this the CD I should use or is there a more current version that I should order?
Thanks for any/all help.
Andy

Re: PATCHES/UPGRADES
I would install the June 2000 or later "general release" patch bundle form the HP-UX Support Plus CDROM.

Re: PATCHES/UPGRADES
After the upgrade (if successfull - good luck!) you should install the latest GR bundle, Sep2000 is the current one, you can download right from the ITRC or order the latest SupportPlus CD.

Re: PATCHES/UPGRADES
I understand that circumstances may not permit a fresh install. However, if you don't absolutely NEED to do an upgrade, I would suggest the fresh install. It's always cleaner, and will save you trouble shooting time down the road.

P.S. Create a make_recovery tape (2 for safety's sake) before you start either the upgrade or the install!

Re: PATCHES/UPGRADES
you donwload a program it creates a file you can ftp back to HP then back to the page again you can runthat file against all the patches and it gives you a list of all your patches and what ones HP recomends due to your systems config and then creates a bundle for you to install ... though the ones HP recomends seems a little excessive ... but its pretty easy to do

Re: PATCHES/UPGRADES
Since you are already doing a major change to the system, this is the right time to put the latest patches. sure you will have lot of hickups if you want to put your patches in the future as you will have to follow alomost all the steps which you will be doing now.
hope this helps
