pb during creation of vg
Hi,
I had this error when i wanted extend a vg :
vgextend /dev/vge300w /dev/dsk/c5t8d1 /dev/dsk/c4t8d2
vgextend: Couldn't install the physical volume "/dev/dsk/c4t8d2".
Too many links
vgextend: Physical volume "/dev/dsk/c4t8d2" could not be deleted from the "/etc/lvmtab" file.
There is now an inconsistency between the LVM device driver
and the "/etc/lvmtab" file.
vgextend: Couldn't install the physical volume "/dev/dsk/c4t8d2".
Too many links
What's the pb ??

Re: pb during creation of vg
Is the disk /dev/dsk/c4t8d2, an alternate path some disk, that is already in vg??
Also how many pvs are there in this vg?? By default only 16 pvs can be added, unless you used -p option while creating vg.

Re: pb during creation of vg
You may need to run through a process to clean up /etc/lvmtab
First, make sure the disk is not part of any volume group.
mv /etc/lvmtab /etc/lvmtab.sav
vgscan -a
creates a new lvmtab file.
Also, please give me a little background on whats going on.
