PCI Mux (AD278A)
I have installed an 8 Port MUX card into an rx2660 server with HP-UX 11iv2.
ioscan shows it claimed and tty device files are there. The pmux_diag loopback test is successful.
SAM will not see the card to create the cu and ca files for MODEM access.
Is there a patch to be loaded or a manual for creating these files?
It has just been too long since I've done this.
Thanks in advance.
Trevor.

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)
I wonder if the card is supported:
http://partsurfer.hp.com
http://docs.hp.com Click the rx2660 link.
Two theories:
1) Card is not supported at all.
2) Card is not in a supported slot. See link 2 for that.

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)
regarding the support - see
http://www.docs.hp.com/en/9899/PCI_MUX_Supportability_Matrix.htm
(is supported).
Check the required patches!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)
Yes the card is supported.
ioscan recognises the card and the loopback test is successful. I have the what I believe to be the right depot loaded.
/dev/tty4a1 to /dev/tty4a8 are there.
Just having issues creating the Dial-in and Dial-out files.
Would someone be able to confirm:
mksf -H 0/4/1/0 -v -a 0 -f -i -p 0
mksf -H 0/4/1/0 -v -a 1 -f -p 0
mksf -H 0/4/1/0 -v -a 2 -f -p 0
Should create the
cua4p0, cul4p0, and ttyd4p0 files?
Assuming HW path is correct, for port lable 1
Thanks.
Trevor.

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)
I confirm that AD278A is supported on rx2660.
It is just that SAM does not support all products and Mux is not supported with SAM. Otherwise it would be documented in the user documentation how to configure a Mux with SAM.

Re: PCI Mux (AD278A)
Apply these patches.
PHCO_34974 Required for SAM to support the PCI-MUX card.
PHSS_35807 Required for the diags to work.
mksf -H 0/4/1/0 -v -a 0 -f -i -p a1
mksf -H 0/4/1/0 -v -a 1 -f -p a1
mksf -H 0/4/1/0 -v -a 2 -f -p a1
And all is well.
SAM works and testing the port access now.
For the record I was using a Sept 06 11iV2 media set.
Thanks to all.
