pcnfsd[1317]: rpc.pcnfsd: su_popen timeout - killed child
I'm having problems getting my printers working. This is something that just started happening. In the syslog file I the the following "pcnfsd[1317]: rpc.pcnfsd: su_popen timeout - killed child process". My guess is that this has something to do with it?? They are serial printers connected to the mux.
Your help is much appreciated.
Chet

Re: pcnfsd[1317]: rpc.pcnfsd: su_popen timeout - killed child
I went hunting for something on this and came across these two documents:
Problem Description Doc #: A4553777
Why am I receiving an RPC CALL TIMEOUT message
after only three of my PC have received PC-NFS authentication?
Configuration Info - HP-UX 10.10
SOLUTION:
You system may be experiencing delayed responses
to its DNS requests but it is recommended that you replace rpc.pcnfsd with the debug version to correct these errors.
*************************
Problem Description Doc #: A4616729
Why am I receiving the following message in my syslog file from pcnfsd?
su_popen unable to create pipe
Configuration Info - HP-UX - 9.04
SOLUTION:
It is recommended that you add the following line to your /etc/pcnfsd.conf file:
uidrange 0-60001
You also need to kill rpc.pcnfsd and restart it after making this change to pcnfsd.conf.
Hope one of these help,
Rita
