Please note, my primary concern is to have a product or solution convert pdf docs to tiff format that can be applied to an OS HP-UX platform, version B.11.00, K580 Quad-Processor. Ideally, the conversion process should be able to execute within a korn shell script or be initiated thru a batch process.
Any information or advice that you can provide would indubitably be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Re: pdf to tiff file conversion
From that vantage point, I'll give you two solutions which may work.
1. Adobe makes a product called Frame Maker, which is available in UNIX of all flavors. Frame maker has extensive scripting support and may give you what you need.
2. GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) supports postscript and tiff formats. I am not sure about the support for PDF files however. GIMP does have some scripting support, however looking at it for a few days I'll say it's not easy.
ADOBE and GIMP staff will code for a fee, so if your not the coding type you can still get it done.
Regards,
Shannon

Ghostscript can convert ps tp pdf and vice versa. Gs can convert ps to tif also.
