Re: Performance issue

Some disks are more busy then others.
A matter of getting an idea of the disk i/o
on your system.

First check the volumes then the datafiles.

The volumes are they local in your machine, or do they reside on a external disk system or SAN ?
If local you can monitor with sar -d
if on a SAN use the performance diagnostics for that system.

For the datafiles you can use Oracle performance pack to see how many blocks write/read are done by each tablespace
and datafile to see the usage.

it is residing on SAN. and it is a staredge 3510 Array box. Other volumes belong to EVA 3000 of HP

Shalom,

One of the scripts in the link above will identify the bottleneck disk. This will enable you to re-arrange the SAN and improve overall input/output.
