Perl error

I did a patch upgrade. And the user is unable to compile perl programs. The error is as follows..

Can anyone tell what may be the cause for this error..is it something to do with the patch upgrade..

Re: Perl error

I've uprgraded perl a few times and never got anything like this.

Please take the following steps and I will suggest a course of action:

1) Specify the patch you installed.
2) If it was a swinstall patch, look at the installation log. You will probably see an error that will help you solve the problem.

Pending that data, you might think about backing the patch out with swremove.

Hope this helps.

Re: Perl error

perl-5.004_01?????

Any chance in getting 5.6.1 or 5.8.0

Anyway, check the file type and access rights of /usr/local/lib/perl5/PA-RISC2.0/5.00401/auto/IO/IO.sl

What processor do you have? This is a pa-risc-2.0 port, which will probably do things like above on a 1.1 arch

does '/usr/local/bin/perl -V' work? (that's a capital V)
Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn
