download 5.8.0 from perl.org, follow the build instructions from the porting site: http://hpux.ee.ualberta.ca/hppd/cgi-bin/wwwtar?/hpux/Languages/perl-5.8.5/perl-5.8.5-ss-11.11.tar.gz+perl-5.8.5/HPUX.Install+text

good luck. I guess I don't understand the value of 5.8.0 over 5.8.5.

Any special reason for the need of 5.8.0 over the much more stable 5.8.6?
