PerLDAP: anyone managed to build on HP-UX?

Hi,

from Mozilla's FTP server I downloaded the source tarball of LDAP C-SDK,
and tried to build it (as a prerequisite for PerLDAP).
I want this because the LDAP-UX/NDS supplied "nsperl" is clumsy and obsolete
(as it requires fiddling with @INC to work).
Unfortunately my compiling of either LDAP C-SDK as well as PerLDAP fail.

Has anyone managed the build on HP-UX?

Re: PerLDAP: anyone managed to build on HP-UX?

I used openldap (compiled from source) and then had no trouble in building perl-ldap

Re: PerLDAP: anyone managed to build on HP-UX?

Hi Merijn,

yes, probably the maintenance of Net::LDAP (the one you pointed to) is more recent,
and thus preferable.
However, I meant PerLDAP (with only one "L") that can be found here
http://search.cpan.org/~leifhed/perldap-1.4/
because it is specifically based on the libraries of the Netscape Directory Server API (i.e. LDAP C-SDK now continued (more or less) by Mozilla.
As I'm using the HP port of NDS 6.11, as well as the SUN ONE DS 5.2 on Solaris or Linux (which is basically the same DS)
it would be ideal to build on the same API.
I also read somewhere (maybe obsolete by now) that only the Mozilla::LDAP API featured SSL transport.
But I will look through the POD of Net::LDAP as an alterntive.

That module was last updated in 1999. Are you sure you want to use it? Both perl and Mozilla have evolved over the last 6 years :)
I bet that API isn't even valid anymore.
