permission

hi team,

I have a logical volume mounted on directory which is having the permission 755 for root.
now i have created 5 user account on my server.
is it possible to give "rwx" permission to that directory to 3 users and rw access to 2 users?

You will have to put them in different groups, change the ownership and then use the group permissions to allow/deny.

Shalom,

Don't use the group the directory has, which is probably a root group.

groupadd ugroup

vi /etc/group and add the 5 users to the new group.

chgrp directory ngroup

Use any name you want, this is just an example.
