PHP / Apache Installation in HP-UX 11.0

I have successfully installed the binary apache distribution into a HP-UX 11.0 O/S.

I need to add PHP as a "so" under apache or complie PHP as a CGI executable.

I have problem in compliing the PHP source distribution. Is there anyone who has done something similar before.

Hi John,

Do a search with apache and check the community forums

Re: PHP / Apache Installation in HP-UX 11.0

I haven't compiled an apache httpd with php (and mod_perl) support on HP-UX here at work but have done it at home on my Linux box (they don't allow me to host a webserver here :-(
But I can imagine the procedure doesn't differ that much since all the sources cling to the autoconf standard.
You only have to take care of the order in which you compile the interpreters/modules and the httpd, and supply the correct flags to the configure script.
I fear you have to obtain the sources of apache, php, and whatever other module you need to link in.
When you got the sources you should read the README and INSTALL, INSTALL-HPUX files first.
The way to build httpd with various module support is exactly outlined therein.
Sorry don't know the exact path anymore by heart.
I would have to look it up in the mentioned files first.
But if you follow the instructions it should work.

Re: PHP / Apache Installation in HP-UX 11.0

Thanks for the information.

To be more specific on the question, I have successfully compiled & installed apache with PHP as 'so' in a linux sytem.

The problem appears to be on HP-UX 11's compiler/environment. I tried the gnu C/C++ on HP-UX 11 but getting compiler option error messages. /JL
