Phyiscal IO Limitation

Greetings,

Just a quick question on a N4000 running 1gig Fiber in FC-SW. Is there a limit on the number of I/O's that can be processed at one time? I am doing approx 1200 physical i/o's when I reach 100% utilization.

Thanks,

Re: Phyiscal IO Limitation

The theoretical limit is based on the maximum speed of the Fiber Network, in this case 1 Gigabyte per second.

In reality, you get different numbers.

There are many factors, including how much buffer memory you have that affect raw I/O.

Other issues include kernel setup, size of the I/O, disk raid configuration.

In other words without a lot more information, your question is nearly impossible to answer.
