i have a "superdome 2 16s" with 7 cells (with 3 servers), two iox and two interconect module. i have two questions about that.
1- How do I know a place of Ethernet and fiber cable physically on a server. ( i using the #olrad -q command on the rp8420 server but it's not working on a superdome 2)
2- How i can disable the fiber and Ethernet card (or HBA) by command on superdome 2 .

Try with rad -q command
please read the man page for the options to power off/power on the card, before power off suspend the operation on the card,
rad -s
rad -o
rad -i
rad -r

Since it's a superdome 2 {although I am no expert on SD2 servers }, there should be olrad support as well as OLD support and by that I mean Online Deletion.

Thanks for your replay, but also the rad command is not working. when i use the olrad command i facing a message from a system "i don't remember it now".
but if is there any other method to i can know a place of Ethernet and fiber cable physically on a server. and How i can disable the fiber and Ethernet card (or HBA) by command on superdome 2

SolutionTo find the HBA, use
# ioscan -m resourcepath
You will find the physical location in the right column.
To remove the HBA, power off the nPar or at least the vPar.

First use "ioscan -funC lan" to identify all the LAN ports on your system.
Now figure out which ioslot that LAN card is in by matching the HW path with those for the ioslots in the "ioscan - m resourcepath" output.

but the problem i don't know how to disable the lan card port from procurve switch.
i can login to switch (GUI) but i don't work before on it.

in my superdome 2 two iox and two hp procurve 6120xg blade switch. and 7 cell with 3 servers
(two vpar and one npar) i want to disconnect the cable physically of some server for cluster troubleshooting.
For that I using the lanscan command to get the H/W path of my lan card and then matching with the "ioscan -m resourcepath" output, To I can disable the port of the lan card from procurve 6120xg switch.

If you need help to find the slot of the HBA, consider to post the hardware path and the ioscan resourcepath output.

Are the NICs in the IOX really connected to the procurve ? sure no all the cards on IOX it's a fiber card and for combo card is nothing connected.

You can do this by logging into the OA on the command line and issuing the "SHOW INTERCONNECT PORT MAP ALL" command:

So this is blade 2, so I know that for the 4 ports on blade 2:
lan0 goes to port 10 in the Procurve in interconnect bay 1
lan1 goes to port 10 in the Procurve in interconnect bay 2
lan2 goes to port 2 in the Procurve in interconnect bay 1
lan3 goes to port 2 in the Procurve in interconnect bay 2
I can't help you with the commands on a procurve to disable/enable a port though - I expect there's an easy web interface to use if you wish...

You can also "cut" the connection from the NIC to the interconnect bay by using the port assignment tab from the OA.

I just had a quick play with the Procurve switch GUI accessed via the OA, and enabling/disabling a port was pretty straightforward through its management console. Disabling the port did indeed make the LAN port status go to DOWN when viewed through the "nwmgr" command, which I think is what you would be looking for.

This means enclosure 1 blade 4
And no go to the OA and use
OA> parstatus -c 1/4 -V
and you will find the NICs.

port 4 on the procurve in interconnect bay 1 and port 6 on the procurve in interconnect bay 2
Here's what you need to do:
1. Check the NIC ports are currently up in HP-UX using "nwmgr" - you should see lan2 and lan5 listed as having an interface status of UP.
2. Login to the procurve web management console for the switch in interconnect bay 1.
3. Click on the "Configuration" tab
4. Select port 4 on the diagram of downlink ports (listed as invisible)
5. Once its selected it should have a blue box around it.
6. Click on the "disbale selected ports" button
7. Back in HP-UX, if you run nwmgr you should now see lan2 as DOWN.
8. Re-enable when you are done...
Obviously you can repeat this operation on the management console for the other switch and select port 6 to disable lan5
