Re: Please Post Forums Issues - January 2006

Cheryl,

No issues ,

But only issue comes when , it shows "system unavailable" messages , and not sure if the typed message goes to the thread or not. !!

But many times we found it gets posted in the thread.

Though seeing this message ,"system unavailable" manytime is painful .

Best Regards,
Happy foruming!

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - January 2006

Please change the title on this thread:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=994227

add the words "with GFS" to the end of the subject line.

I did experience the performance issues but found my way around them in general last week.

Thanks

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - January 2006

I've noticed something odd this morning.

I looked at a thread, and it had the thread-closed marker in it, but the post index didn't haev the padlock.

I came back about half an hour later, and the little padlock was there.

Has the locking icon somehow been disassociated with the post indexes being created, now?

Also, I made 3 posts. First attempt on two of them came up with a System Unavailable error. Back, and Submit again worked..

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - January 2006

Extremely poor and frustrating Forums performance this morning. Many, many, many "system unavailable", which take forever to load, by the way.

Even more frustrating to me is the lack of response from anyone at HP. If someone could at least acknowledge and commiserate, it wouldn't be so bad but this feels like nobody gives a .... a ..... a darn - yeah, that's it.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - January 2006

Of course I got a "system unavailable" trying to post my previous entry. It took 61 seconds for that to come up - it always seems to be right around 60 seconds.

However, and this may be a clue, when I got back to the main hp-ux page and refreshed it, this Issues thread was nowhere to be seen. I've also noticed several instance of the responses counter indicating fewer than the actual responses when you check the thread itself. I have to wonder if the system is getting hung trying to update the counters and finally times out after 60 seconds.

Yes - very...very...slow today - icons not displaying....server closed errors....etc....etc....time for a reboot :)

PS - sorry to continue posting about this - as I'm sure you are aware of the issue.

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - January 2006

Hi Dan & Cheryl:

I second (ad nauseum) Pete's last comments!

I wrote (here) on January 19:

/* begin */

The availablity and performance of the Forums is terrible. No other HP site I have traversed has had any problem, including subsections of the ITRC at large.

It is my observation (and always have been) that it poor performance and a high number of page errors are invariably confined to the Forums.

Why do you think that my be?

/* end */

So, why do you think this continues?

Regards!

Re: Please Post Forums Issues - January 2006

Cheryl, Dan,

May be it is a good thing that I am addicted to ITRC.

With the trouble I have been having (System Unavailable or Page not found ) I would have marked any other site as "Technically too lousy to bother anymore"
You have to be REAL hardheaded to continue in this way, an I really am afraid that a large fraction of the occasional wisdom-seekers have weeker skulls :-( :-(

When can we expect improvement?

Nothing personal, I know you are also fighting for improvement, but if you need ammo, feel free to use this post!

Proost.

Cheryl/Dan,

I'm getting a lot of these messages after I've pressed submit on a reply:

The system is currently unavailable. Please try again later.
